How to Deregister PayID

To deregister your PayID, simply reach out to the institution or payment service provider you signed up with. Now, keep in mind that each provider has their own process, but here’s typically what you can expect:

  1. Log in to your online banking or payment service account.
  2. Find where they have the PayID settings or management section.
  3. Locate the option for deregistration/removal of your PayID and select it.
  4. Follow the prompts that come up and provide any additional information requested.
  5. If you still don’t have a clue how to find the deregistration button on your account:
  6. Get in touch with customer support via phone, email, or live chat.
  7. Tell them you want to remove your PayID and ask for help doing so.
  8. Prepare any identification or info needed before making contact if they request it.
  9. Do whatever else is instructed by the customer support representative who helps you.

After deregistering your PayID, there’s no way to reverse it. The link between your account and that particular PayID will be gone forever. And just as a reminder, payments cannot be received when using a disconnected PayID.

Let’s look at Suncorp Bank as an example

To say goodbye to your PayID personal account:

  1. Get into the Suncorp Bank App and hit the ‘cog wheel’ at the top left corner of the Accounts tab.
  2. You’ll see a button that says ‘PayID’. Click it. Then tap on the PayID you want to close.
  3. Lastly, click on the ellipsis at the top of the PayID Details screen for some more options, then select ‘Close PayID’.

If you’re working with a business account’s payID, give us a buzz at 13 11 55 or make your way down to any Suncorp Bank branch.
